A compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or prodrug thereof for use as a pharmaceutical, wherein each of A1, A2, A3, A4 are independently selected from the group N or the group C-R3, where R3 is H or a substituent group C, and wherein at least one of A2 and A4 is N.

Abstract

1. A compound of formula (I) !! or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or prodrug thereof for use as a pharmaceutical,! wherein each of A1, A2, A3, A4 are independently selected from the group N or the group C-R3, where R3 is H or a substituent group C, and wherein at least one of A1, A2 and A4 is N; ! X is a linking group which is a NH group, a substituted amino group, O or S; ! R1 represents a substituent of an aromatic ring, and n is an integer from 0 to 4; ! Y and D are independently selected from O, S, CH2, NH; With substituted R6; or N, substituted with R6; ! R6 is a substituent of the ring which contains Y and D, and r is an integer from 0 to the maximum number of acceptable valencies of the ring; ! R2 represents a substituted or unsubstituted group selected from hydrocarbyl or heterocyclic group; ! T is selected from H, halogen, O-R9, S-R8, SO-R8, SO2-R8, SO2-N (R8) 2, SO2-NR10 or SO2-halogen, wherein R8 is selected from hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocyclyl or aryl; and R9 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclyl, and NR10 is a heterocyclic ring including the nitrogen; and p is an integer from 0 to 5.! 2. A compound of formula (I)! ! Or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or prodrug! wherein each of A1, A2, A3, A4 are independently selected from the group N or the group C-R3, where R3 is H or a substituent group C, and wherein at least one of A1, A2 and A4 is N; ! X is a linking group selected from the group of NH, substituted amino group, O or S
