Aims: to analyze the role of visual signs in homeopathy together with their specific semiotic structure in correlation with the codes leading to possible significations and then to assess the possibility of establishing coherence between the symptoms and signs of patients. Methodology: Sign-complexes are approached through a four-stage model including: 1) delimitation; 2) decomposition; 3) correlation and; 4) reintegration of signs. Data for analysis were collect...

Levels of evidence considered are: I) existence of meta-analyses and/or systematic positive reviews of literature; IIa) multiple positive randomized controlled trials (RCTs); IIb) some positive RCTs; IIIa) positive multiple cohorts studies; IIIb) positive studies with some cohorts; IV) opinion of experts (clinical and daily practice cases). Conclusions are clear: home...

Cosmologically active Brans-Dicke (or dilaton) scalar fields are generically ruled out by solar system tests of gravity unless their couplings to ordinary matter are much suppressed relative to gravitational strength, and this is a major hindrance when building realistic models of light dilatons coupled to matter. We propose a new mechanism for evading such bounds if matter also couples to a light axion, that exploits nonlinear target-space curvature interactions to qualitatively change how the fields respond to a gravitating source. We find that dilaton-matter couplings that would be excluded...

Medical Theory and Hypothesis
Homeopathy is approximately two hundred and fifty years old medical system. In homeopathy, extremely small dose of original substances is used to treat diseases that produce similar symptoms of the disease. Therefore, two principles of homeopathy are the law of similars and the law of minute dose. Hahnemann proposed that similar symptoms produced by remedies occupy the space of the disease. Reaction or withdrawal effect of the remedy goes against the symptoms of the disease and thus the disease is cured. Although similar substances are used to treat diseases, some substances produce both simil...

It is considered that ultradilution and homeopathic potentization can be explained by: (1) Poincaré's recurrence (the disappearance and return of the signal); (2) succussion, resonance and amplification (preservation of the Signal); (3) quantum coherence domains (the nature of the signals); and (4) generation of harmonics (the transformation of the sign).
